David Blunkett, who following the floods in 2007 was critical of the insurance industry’s response, has now praised the manner in which many insurance companies have learned lessons from last summers floods and progressed in terms of the service provision they now provide. Blunkett believes there is still significant room for improvement in respect of the development of the relationship between insurers and loss adjusters and indeed on the part of the individual or business to ensure they have sufficient cover.
